VoteGuard International Ltd (VGIL) has established a fully cloud-based virtual office using Microsoft 365 services available through Microsoft’s nonprofit programme, providing the organisation with a comprehensive digital infrastructure for its international operations.

As a newly established Australian registered nonprofit organisation working internationally, VGIL has built its administrative, communication, document-management and collaborative functions within a Microsoft 365 environment.

Through its nonprofit entitlement, VGIL has access to a range of Microsoft 365 services, including Outlook, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Word, Excel and PowerPoint for free.

Together, these services provide the essential infrastructure needed to operate an organisation across geographical borders without the substantial costs.

A virtual office for an international nonprofit
VGIL’s Microsoft 365 environment enables its volunteers and office-bearers to communicate, collaborate and manage organisational work from different locations.

Outlook
provides VGIL with its organisational email system, while Microsoft Teams supports online meetings and collaborative work. SharePoint provides the organisation with a centralised virtual office environment and organisational document-management structure. OneDrive supports secure cloud-based file storage, while Word, Excel and PowerPoint provide essential tools for preparing documents, managing data and producing presentations.

This integrated environment allows VGIL to maintain its organisational records, coordinate activities, communicate with volunteers and undertake research without requiring a physical office.

Supporting international work
The virtual office is particularly valuable for VGIL’s international programmes and research activities, where contributors may work from different countries and time zones.

It provides a common digital environment in which volunteers can access relevant resources, collaborate on projects and contribute to the organisation’s work.
The infrastructure also supports VGIL’s research and analytical activities, including its Perceived Election Treason-Risk Index (PETRI) programme.

For a new nonprofit organisation operating primarily through volunteers, access to appropriate digital infrastructure can make a significant difference.

Making international nonprofit work more accessible
VGIL welcomes Microsoft’s support for eligible nonprofit organisations through its nonprofit programme.

Access to Microsoft 365 enables organisations such as VGIL to establish professional digital operations at a stage when the cost of conventional office infrastructure worldwide could otherwise be a significant barrier.

For VGIL, the result is a virtual office without geographical boundaries—a digital working environment that enables the organisation to coordinate people, information and activities internationally while remaining a volunteer-based nonprofit organisation.

VGIL is grateful for the technology support available through Microsoft’s nonprofit programme and considers access to modern digital infrastructure an important enabler of effective work.
